The Deck, together with Dubai partner Talkabout Media were given the task by our creative friends at Mindshare, to develop an idea for a series of films for a luxury watch brand.

The idea of the series was to feature a minute in one person’s life. The minute leading up to a signature moment in time. The minute in a pilot’s day, leading up to the moment of take-off. A minute leading up to the moment a surgeon makes the first incision. A cricket player (or baseball, or tennis) in the minute before they bowl or serve their first ball. You get the idea.

So we pulled together a crew, packed the cars with a few gallons of sun cream and ventured off-road up near the border with Oman (38°C with no shade) to spend three days shooting a pilot with climber Max Stanley.

Primary filming was on Sony F5 with a big bag of primes and a drone for the fun stuff.
